The first electronic digital computer was invented
at Iowa State University (ISU) from 1937-1942 by
John Vincent Atanasoff and Clifford E. Berry. It was not until 1973 that the Atanasoff-Berry
Computer (ABC) was credited as the first invention,
and not until 1997 that a replica was built.
Here are the plans, open online for the first time. Learn more about and discuss the ABC Computer, and
help build more replicas, miniature and full-scale.
